The short answer
The Whop app store is where community owners add features to their community. Each app is one capability — a chat, a course, a forum, a leaderboard, a storefront — built either by Whop or by an outside developer. You install one in a couple of clicks and it appears as a tab your members can open.
How installing works
Open the app store, pick an app, choose which community it goes into, and confirm. The app asks for the permissions it needs, and you approve them before anything is added.
You can install several apps, run the same app twice with different content in each, and remove one without touching the rest. Members install nothing; they simply see a new tab.
What apps cost
Many are free. Others charge the community owner a monthly fee, or take a share of the sales they handle on your behalf.
The price is shown before you confirm, so nothing is charged by surprise. Where an app takes a share of sales, remember it sits on top of Whop’s own cut — add both up before pricing your product.
What is in there
The essentials first: chat, forums, courses, giveaways, leaderboards, affiliate tools and analytics. These cover most of what a paid community needs on day one.
Then the specialised ones, including storefronts for downloadable files. MKKT is one of those: it gives a community a store for ebooks, PDFs and templates, hosting the file and delivering it after payment.
Anything Whop does not do itself, an app usually does. That is the point of the store.
