On a shop sale Ko-fi starts lower: 5% against MKKT’s 7%, about $0.98 on a $49 sale. Ko-fi can go lower still by removing its cut on a Gold subscription; MKKT can’t go lower, and it can’t go higher either. The bigger difference is not the percentage. One of them assumes the file already exists.
The honest breakeven
Ko-fi Gold removes the shop fee for a flat monthly price, so it overtakes MKKT’s 7% once your monthly shop sales pass about 14 times that price. The arithmetic is the monthly bill divided by 0.07. Check Ko-fi’s pricing page for today’s Gold price and multiply. Under that line MKKT costs less; over it, the trade is a fixed bill in every slow month against a fee you only pay when you are making money.
