A smaller cut than Gumroad,
and your own link.
Gumroad’s 10% + $0.50 is the highest per-sale rate of the major platforms. MKKT is 10% flat, gives you a branded store on your own link, and sets your payment account up from your email address.
The math, side by side
What you keep on a $49 sale.
| Platform | You keep on a $49 sale | Per-sale fee | Monthly fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| MKKT | $42.38 | 10% flat | $0 |
| Gumroad | $41.88 | 10% + $0.50 | $0 |
| Lemon Squeezy | $46.05 | 5% + 50¢ | $0 |
| Stan Store | $47.28 | Processing only | $29 to $99 |
| Payhip | $44.83 | 5% (free plan) | $0 to $99 |
| Sellfy | $47.28 | No platform cut | $29+ |
Pricing verified July 2026. "You keep" assumes a single $49 digital sale. Lemon Squeezy's figure treats its fee as all-in; MKKT, Gumroad, Payhip, Sellfy and Stan show card processing (est. 2.9% + $0.30) separately, because each of those fees is published exclusive of it. Gumroad's 10% + $0.50 applies to direct sales. Sales it sources through Discover are charged at 30%. Payhip's paid plans lower its per-sale rate for a monthly fee, and the Sellfy and Stan numbers exclude their monthly plans. Platforms change pricing, so check their sites for the latest.
Per-sale take-home is not the whole story. Lemon Squeezy becomes the legal seller of your product, and Stan charges $29+ every month before you sell anything. On a straight fee, Gumroad’s 10% + $0.50 is the one that stings, and it grows with your price.
Why creators switch
Lower fee is just the start.
The fee
10% flat, not 10% + $0.50
Gumroad takes 10% plus 50¢ of every direct sale, whatever the price. MKKT takes 10%. On a $200 product that’s $14 to MKKT versus $20.50 to Gumroad, and the gap only widens as you raise your price.
No monthly fee. No setup fee. You pay only when money comes in.
The setup
Payments from your email address
Gumroad pays out on its own schedule from its own account. MKKT sets your payment account up from your email address; payments run through Whop, and you verify your identity once before your first withdrawal.
Upload the file, set a price, publish. One session, not one weekend.
The ownership
Your customers, your list
Buyer emails, order history, and your catalogue are yours to export and take with you. MKKT never markets to your customers and never puts a competing storefront in front of them at checkout.
Payments are processed by Whop. MKKT sets your payment account up from your email, and you verify your identity with Whop once before your first withdrawal.
The storefront
One branded link for everything
Instead of scattered product links, you get one branded storefront on your own slug. Add files, courses, and knowledge packs as fast as you can think of them.
Share a single link anywhere (bio, email, DMs) and checkout is handled.
Pay when you sell
10% in, and the rest is yours.
MKKT takes 10% of each sale. Card processing is charged separately by the payment processor, and it is the only other cost.

On a $49 sale
Card processing is estimated here at a typical US card rate (2.9% + $0.30) and is charged by the payment processor, not by MKKT. MKKT’s 10% is the only platform fee, and it is charged only when a sale happens.
FAQ
Questions, answered straight.
- Is MKKT cheaper than Gumroad?
- Yes, at every price. Gumroad charges 10% + $0.50 on a direct sale and MKKT charges 10%; both are quoted before card processing, which is estimated here at 2.9% + $0.30 and charged on either platform. On a $49 product that is about $42.38 kept on MKKT against roughly $41.88 on Gumroad, and the gap widens as your price rises. Two caveats worth knowing: sales Gumroad sources through its own Discover marketplace are charged at 30%, and Gumroad has been the merchant of record since January 2025, so it handles sales tax and VAT for you. MKKT does not, and those obligations stay yours.
- Does MKKT take 10% like Gumroad?
- No. MKKT's platform fee is 10% per sale, against Gumroad's 10% + $0.50. There is no monthly fee and no setup fee; you only pay when you make a sale. Card processing is charged separately by the payment processor on both platforms.
- Can I move my products from Gumroad to MKKT?
- Yes. Your products are your files. Download them from Gumroad, upload them to MKKT, set a price, and you have a product page with checkout on it. Point your link-in-bio and audience at your new MKKT store when you are ready.
- Do I need my own Stripe account?
- No. MKKT sets up your payment account from your email, so there are no bank details on day one and nothing to apply for before you list. Payments are processed by Whop, MKKT's 10% comes out of each sale, and your balance sits with Whop until you verify your identity with them once. That check gates your first withdrawal, not your ability to sell.
- Is there a monthly fee?
- No. Like Gumroad, MKKT has no monthly subscription. You pay 10% only when you sell. Unlike Gumroad, MKKT gives you a branded storefront on your own link and sets your payment account up from your email.
- What can I sell on MKKT?
- Digital downloads (guides, templates, design kits, spreadsheets, code), ebooks, and knowledge packs like prompts, research, and playbooks. One branded store holds your whole catalog under a single link.
