How do I sell digital products on Etsy?
Updated
Set the listing up
Open a shop, create a listing, set the type to digital, upload your files, set a price and publish. Etsy takes the payment and delivers the download automatically. The listing must meet Etsy’s Creativity Standards — your own design, or one made under your creative direction, with any AI use disclosed. After that, the title, tags and preview images decide whether anybody sees it.
The setup takes an hour. The listing details are the real work, and the disclosure is not optional: Etsy deactivates listings that get it wrong.
Titles and tags decide everything
Etsy is a search engine. Your title should read like the phrase a buyer would type, not like a brand name.
"Wedding seating chart template, editable Canva, printable" beats "Elegance Collection No. 3" every time.
Images matter more than the file
Shoppers cannot open your file, so the preview images are the product. Show what is inside, at a readable size, with a clear first image.
Include a mock-up of it in use. That single image often doubles clicks.
Do not stop at Etsy
Etsy owns the buyer. You cannot email them freely, and a policy change can end your shop overnight.
Use it for discovery, and send what you can toward a store of your own — a storefront, or a shop inside a community you run.
