How many sales do I need for this to be worth it?
Updated
Count your real costs first
Add up every cost — platform fees, tools you pay for, and the hours you spent valued at something — then divide that total by what you keep from one sale. That number is your break-even. If it is more sales than you could realistically make, the price is too low or the product took too long.
Most sellers count the platform fee and ignore the forty hours. The forty hours is the bigger number.
Then do the division
Divide the total cost by what you keep from each sale. That is how many sales break even.
Run it again at a higher price. Raising the price usually moves break-even more than cutting costs does.
Judge it over months, not weeks
A digital product keeps selling. Something that looks like a failure in month one can pay for itself over a year.
Give it three months of real promotion before you decide.
The second product is cheaper
The first product carries all the setup: the store, the page, the audience, the learning.
Judge the business on the second and third products, not the first.
