What currency should I price my digital product in?
Updated
Pick the currency your buyers think in
Price in the currency most of your buyers already think in. A familiar price feels cheaper than an identical converted one. If your audience is spread across countries, US dollars is the common default and nobody finds it odd. One currency, clearly shown, is enough for a first product.
Revisit the decision later, when your own sales data shows where buyers actually are.
What conversion costs
A buyer paying in another currency pays their card issuer a conversion fee. You may pay one too when the money reaches your bank.
It is small per sale but worth knowing about before you set a tight margin.
Local pricing
Some platforms show a converted local price at checkout. It usually lifts conversion in markets where the raw number looks alien.
Be careful with rounding. A price ending in an odd number looks like a mistake.
Do not over-think it
This is a small lever compared with the price itself and the product page.
Set it once, then spend the attention on things that move more.
