Can I sell printables on Amazon?
Updated
Not as a plain download
Not in the way you would on a storefront. Amazon’s main marketplace does not sell loose digital files, so printable sellers reach Amazon by publishing the same content as a low-content paperback or an ebook instead. That reaches Amazon’s traffic, but the product becomes a book rather than a download.
It is a different product for a different buyer, using the same source material.
What sellers publish instead
Low-content books: planners, journals, logbooks, puzzle books and notebooks, printed and shipped by Amazon on demand.
Or an ebook, if the material reads rather than gets written on. Neither is a download the buyer prints at home.
What changes when it becomes a book
The buyer gets a bound physical object, so the interior has to work at a fixed trim size with proper margins and bleed.
You also inherit book competition, book pricing and book returns. The cover matters far more than it does for a download.
Where downloads still belong
Marketplaces built for digital files, and your own storefront, are where a printable stays a printable.
Plenty of sellers do both: the download for people who want to print at home, the paperback for people who want it delivered.
